INTRODUCTION TO DEER FENCES

For a fence to keep out deer you have two main choices:

1)    Electric Deer Fences: Fool them with a 3-4 foot electric fence loaded with deer lures. The lures attract them, the fence shocks them, and so they learn to stay away from the protected area. If you do this with a single wire or multiple wires, the trick may work a year or more before some smart doe decides to jump over the wire(s) and the others follow. If you set up a “3 D” fence using 3 charged wires and two lines of posts, the effects may be more permanent. To explore these options, for which installation instructions are available on this website, click on one of the links below.

2)    Barrier Deer Fences: Your other choice (the best but more expensive way to keep out deer) is to erect a barrier fence about 7 feet high. Depending on the deer pressure and other factors, you may prefer to do this with polypropylene or metal hexagrid fencing. To browse these options, visit our website invisible-deer-fence.com.
