Unlike woodchucks (ground hogs) and some kinds of rabbits, cotton-tail rabbits don’t dig. They may use other animals’ burrows but do not make their own. Nor can rabbits jump as high as one might think. Cotton-tails will not jump a 2-foot fence, and jack rabbits can generally be kept out by a 3-foot fence (make it 4 feet to be really sure).
